Diana L. Shearon
Diana L. Shearon is recognized as one of the finest plein air painters in the region. Her work is representational, at times bordering on magical realism/romanticism.
Drawing and painting are a passion for Diana. As a little girl she would beg to be given the white butcher paper wrappings from her mother on which she would draw and color for hours. Her first drawing lesson was in the 1st grade in a rural Midwest schoolroom. As a teenager, her frequent request for Christmas was a set of acrylic paints from the Sears and Roebuck Catalog.
She attended the University of Arkansas and achieved her dream of an academic art degree. She worked in the fields of graphic design and photography, but returning to the studio to become a full-time painter was her dream fulfilled.
